Advanced Lycopene Introduction:

H&Z® Advanced Lycopene is a powerfull antioxidant. It makes tomatoes red. It is soluble in oils and insoluble in water. Advanced Lycopene is easily absorbed by the organism and is naturally present in human plasma and tissues in higher concentrations than the other carotenoids.Tomatoes contain a variety of antioxidants such as the two carotenoids Advanced Lycopene and Beta Carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, polyphenolics such as Kaempferol and quercitin. Advanced Lycopene is the most abundant one in red tomatoes.

H&Z® Advanced Lycopene is a carotenoid−a natural pigment that gives some vegetables and fruits their red color. It is an antioxidant (a substance that protects against cell damage).

Tomatoes provide about 80% of the Advanced Lycopene in the US diet. Tomatoes processed with high heat contain Advanced Lycopene in a form more usable by the body than in raw tomatoes; however, heat processing can destroy other nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E.

These are also antioxidants. Synthetic Advanced Lycopene is categorized as "generally recognized as safe" by the US Food and Drug Administration.
